What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. It lets the site remember things between page loads: what is in your cart, whether you are signed in, which language you chose. Session cookies disappear when you close the browser. Persistent ones stay for a set period until they expire or you delete them.

Which cookies we set

This shop runs on Shopify, and the cookies below are the ones the Shopify platform sets. We have not added any of our own.

Necessary

These keep the shop working. Without them you cannot fill a cart, sign in, or check out, so they are always active.

  • _shopify_essential: keeps your session together across pages
  • cart, cart_ts, cart_sig: remember what you put in your cart
  • cart_currency: remembers the currency you are shopping in
  • localization: remembers your country and language
  • secure_customer_sig, _secure_session_id: keep you signed in and secure the checkout

Analytics

Shopify's built-in analytics tells us how many people visited, which pages they looked at, and where they came from. We read it as totals, not to identify anyone.

  • _shopify_y, _shopify_s: recognise a visitor and their visit
  • _landing_page, _orig_referrer: record which page you arrived on and where from

What we do not use

There is no Google Analytics, no Google Ads tag, no Meta or TikTok pixel and no other third-party advertising or tracking script on this site. If we ever add one, this page changes before it goes live.

Payment providers

When you pay, your payment provider may set its own cookies to process and secure the transaction. Those cookies are theirs, not ours, and their own privacy statement covers them.

Your choices

Where the law requires your consent, a cookie banner appears on your first visit and asks before anything beyond the necessary cookies is set.

To change a choice you already made, clear this site's cookies in your browser and the banner will ask again, or email info@paarline.com and we will handle it.
